We took note from Anderson’s play of color and charm to create a look that complimented both Dana + Evan in the best of ways.

When Dana + Evan introduced the idea of a Royal Tenenbaum inspired photo booth for their wedding, our imagination for this colorfully eclectic wedding took flight. Why stop with a photo booth when we have Archive (the candy shop of party rentals) to play with?

Dana said “our wedding was full of color, symbols and meaning. Evan is stable, grounded like a tree/wood while I am fun, bright and whimsical like color. Our themes were the merging of color and wood with a little bit of Wes Anderson sprinkled throughout.”

About the Wes Anderson Wedding

When Dana + Evan introduced the idea of a Royal Tenenbaum inspired photo booth for their wedding, our imagination for this colorfully eclectic wedding took flight. Why stop with a photo booth when we have Archive (the candy shop of party rentals) to play with? We took note from Anderson’s play of color and charm to create a look that complimented both Dana + Evan in the best of ways. Dana said “our wedding was full of color, symbols and meaning. Evan is stable, grounded like a tree/wood while I am fun, bright and whimsical like color. Our themes were the merging of color and wood with a little bit of Wes Anderson sprinkled throughout.”

Rimrock Ranch proved to be the perfect local for this Wes Anderson inspired design. Just outside of Joshua Tree, this beautiful 11-acre desert property already has plenty of retro-rustic flair. From authentic vintage airstreams to charming 1940s red cabins, Rimrock made for the ideal “set” for Dana and Evan. The groom (aka, Workshop + Whisky) even got his hands dirty, constructing a custom ceremony backdrop, stage, lobby bar and photo wall.

We added subtle elements in each station of the wedding design. Moonrise Kingdom inspired the welcome area. Vintage cloverdale chairs and camping lanterns made a campy-retro feel with an appropriate palette of green, yellow and white.

Guests mixed + mingled before making their way to the ceremony inspired by Fantastic Mr. Fox. Autumn hues accented perfectly placed eclectic chairs, all back dropped by sweeping desert views.

Following the I Do’s, we welcomed guests to our makeshift Grand Budapest bar and lounge. A red concierge station served as a bar and seating chart with a back bar filled with keys directing guests to their reception seat. Four long rows of mahogany tables let the colorful tabletop and chairs take the stage. Playful goblets from Archive and floral arrangements by Layered Vintage completed the tablescape.

The Royal Tenenbaum photo booth – the original inspiration for this design – completed the night with retro-funk accessories and décor. Framed photos back dopped a colorful lounge, where guests posed with vintage telephones, fur throws and opera glasses. Dancing and desserts concluded the night in Darjeeling Limited fashion. It truly was a wedding to remember!
