We all can relate to the good and bad of business trips, while the location may be a new and exciting place to travel to, one often still feels as if they are “on the clock.” With a work event being held at the beautiful Malibu Winery, we wanted our clients to be able to enjoy every aspect of their surrounding and let their hair down. With a vibrant color palette and garden party inspired design, we created a fresh backyard summer brunch.
For this event, we were inspired by the idea of an impromptu picnic. We wanted it to feel like we had gathered whatever was in the local farmhouse for the picnic, yet of course it still has to have style.
Our design resulted in mastering the art of pattern-play. We mixed layers of gingham against faded floral linens. Next, each piece of china was handpicked, and layered with enamel campware and mason jar glasses. Old tins were filled with fresh picked wildflowers for centerpieces.
This event was a home run for relaxation. The event planners said even their most serious and unfussy attendees couldn’t help but smile upon entering Malibu Family Wines. They expressed that the guests felt as if in a close family friend’s backyard enjoying the fresh air, sunshine and good company. It was the moment of decompression they all needed. But the greatest compliment came when the head CEO said he felt like he spent the day inside Sunset Magazine, which for us was all the feedback we needed.
