The challenge: find a rustic barn venue in Southern California large enough to fit 350 people. The solution: create a barn facade for an elegant, rustic design space in an otherwise empty location. With a bit of love and ingenuity, we proudly created our “Pop up Barn” for clients Laura and Rob! This creation won “Best Transformation of Space,” award by the Association of Bridal Consultants OC!

The juxtaposition of rustic reclaimed wood paired with elegant tufted furniture and draping, created a welcoming setting of western luxury.

While keeping in the country western theme, we wanted to create a dining experience that would stand proudly against any five star restaurant.  To do so, we brought in the French traditional design of the Sophia chairs, with table settings of polished silver, classic white china and plush red roses.

Rob and Laura had an array of various desserts for their guests, so to highlight the beauty of each individually, we created a number of small “vignettes” and utilized the desserts themselves as elements of design.

As the sun set low, the warm lighting of the wagon wheel chandeliers filled the space and the intimacy among the guests grew as everyone celebrated Laura and Rob’s marriage on the dance floor!  This is one design we truly will never forget, that has set the bar high for any future country style wedding… bring on the next challenge!

Our challenge, the bride seeking a classic chapel wedding and the groom desiring after an outdoor ceremony. Our solution, to use the design elements of a traditional chapel, al fresco style!   Ojai Valley Inn Resort & Spa was the perfect canvas to make this vision come to life, framed by gorgeous Heritage and Oak trees.  Inspired by the arched windows known to church architecture, we lined the ceremony rustic pew seating with chapel mirrors, which also gave the ceremony a more intimate feeling.  The bride entered down the isle through antique French doors, adorned lavishly with fresh blooms, to meet her groom at the end, below a Little White Chapel.  The ceremony, needless to say, was perfect.

The reception boasted of it’s own unique beauty, inspired after the artful elements of cinema, a nod to the groom’s hobby.  The juxtaposition of old film reels and antique cameras alongside florals of sage green and delicate lilac colored roses, created a romantic setting reminiscent of classic love films.  Handsome lounge spaces lined the dining area for guests to escape and enjoy chilled champagne in a more intimate setting adorned with rustic tanned leather, deep crushed velvet and wrought iron industrial seating.

Nestled along the white sandy beaches of beautiful Mexico, and only a short flight from anywhere in the States, lies the Riviera Maya, encompassing three popular destination honeymoon spots: Cancun, Tulum, and Playa del Carmen. With warm weather year round, turquoise oceans, beautiful resorts, it’s no wonder couples are choosing to marry in this Caribbean destination.

Rosewood Mayakoba was our first choice for designing because it is truly the definition of paradise. It is one of our favorite places to work because the property is romantic, secluded and stunningly beautiful from every angle. But more importantly, the wedding team at Rosewood is beyond exceptional. They treat guests with such care and attention, everyone feels like a VIP.

We were inspired by the romantic elements of the Riviera Maya. The Caribbean Sea, the soft white sand, the vividly colored flowers speckled amongst the lush, green rainforest. We wanted to evoke the relaxed, yet refined atmosphere of the Rosewood Mayakoba in her dress, hair, makeup & floral design.

And what a romantic day it was! Nicholas and Melina couldn’t keep their hands off each other… smooching and holding hands between shots. Lane Dittoe photographed the day and captured their love for each other in a natural, breathtaking way.

Our designs for the day were inspired by the bright, sunny hues of Mexico, using shades of blue, orange, mango, turquoise, yellow and pearl. We found local florals, which were artfully crafted on-site by Krista Jon and her team. For decor we turned to Archive Mexico for a beautiful collection of rustic wood furniture combined with brightly colored plates, linens, & accessories.Lane-Ditto-Rosewood-Mayakoba-Crosby-and-Jon-Archive-Rentals-2

The real show-stopper, however, is that blue-hued dress! R-Mine blew us and Melina away with the pastel sky blue ceremony gown that so perfectly evoked the serene vibe of the Caribbean sea. In the end, the couple be more pleased with this day and their photos. Everything was perfect. The dress, the couple, the Caribbean… All were absolute magic!
